Welcome to the Greater Phoenix Landscape Photography Meetup Group!
Are you passionate about capturing the stunning landscapes of the Phoenix area and beyond? Whether you're an experienced photographer or just starting out, our community is the perfect place for you to hone your skills, share your work, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
*Please think about pledging a few dollars to this group as it costs over $320/year to keep the group open. Pledges add up so everything counts.*
Why Join Us?
- Guidance: Our events are designed to help you learn and grow.
- Inspiring Locations: From the vibrant desert vistas to the serene mountain views, we scout the best spots around Phoenix to ensure every outing is an adventure.
- Supportive Community: Our members range from beginners to seasoned pros, all eager to share tips, tricks, and encouragement.
- Events: We organize meetups, tours around the Southwest, and photo walks, giving you plenty of opportunities to get out and shoot.
- Most events are free to attend. Fee based tour-type events will be scheduled and typically include long distance trips (Utah Badlands, Death Valley, Oregon Coast, etc.). Fees are used to help offset the Organizers costs for admin, trip planning and part of the trip costs.

Sunset at Three Sisters - November 8 (Saturday) - Wave Cave Trailhead
Location not specified yetLet's head out and enjoy Golden Hour light on the Three Sisters in the Superstitions. We will capture the formation by hiking a bit up the Wave Cave Trail Head from the parking lot (maybe 5-10mins) or you can stay relatively close to the parking lot and get a good shot. The Wave Cave Trail begins at the Carney Springs trailhead off Peralta Road.
The sun is in the perfect position to shine golden hour light onto the Three Sisters rock formation during the winter months.
Sunset is around 5:28 PM (golden hour begins at 4:52 PM) so let's meet at the trailhead at 4 PM. This should give everyone a chance to hike to a spot, find a composition, get their settings just right, and enjoy the scenery.

Fall @ Boyce Thompson Arboretum
Boyce Thompson Arboretum, 37615 E Arboretum Way, Superior, AZ, USJoin us for a stunning morning of fall photography at the beautiful Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Late November is the perfect time to capture the golden and orange hues of the changing leaves.
**DATE IS A PLACEHOLDER SUBJECT TO CHANGE**
We’ll meet at the entrance of the Arboretum and explore the grounds, focusing on capturing the colors, textures, macros, and natural beauty of the season. This is a great opportunity for photographers of all levels to practice composition, lighting, and nature photography techniques.
What to Bring:
- Camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphone)
- Wide-angle lens to capture a few larger scenes and foregrounds
- Macro and zoom lens
- Tripods if you like
- Polarizing filter to enhance the colors and reduce glare
Entry Fees:
Participants are responsible for their entrance fee to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, $24.95/adult. Check their website for confirmation.Let’s connect with nature and capture the season’s beauty together!
