Join fellow lovers of science and reason in Scottsdale at the Cornish Pasty Company (http://www.cornishpastyco.com/). The CPC has lot to offer: amazing food, a great drink selection, friendly service, and a large patio. Free parking is available in back or along 1st Street.
There's no agenda for the meetup other than hanging out with fellow skeptics and having lively conversations about pretty much anything. Common topics include alternative medicine (homeopathy, acupuncture), conspiracy theories (vaccine myths, 9/11 "truth"), paranormal claims (UFOs, ghosts), and anything else to which we can apply critical thinking (which is everything). It's always a great time.
See you at the pub!
Q: What is a skeptic?
A: "A skeptic provisionally proportions acceptance of any claim to valid logic and a fair and thorough assessment of available evidence, and studies the pitfalls of human reason and the mechanisms of deception so as to avoid being deceived by others or themselves. Skepticism values method over any particular conclusion." - Dr. Steven Novella (http://www.skepticblog.org/2008/11/17/skeptic-the-name-thing-again/)
