First one of the season!
Come join us at Salt River to beat the heat. We’ll be floating-paddling from Water Users Rec Site - Phon D Sutton Rec Area. Duration on the river will be ~3-3.5hrs. There are a few rapids, so be sure to secure your belongings to the board. Bring enough water, snacks & sun protections!
🐎 Wild horses are in the area. Be sure to give them some space.
We’ll meet at No Snow Rental if anybody needs to rent a paddle board. It’s $40 for all day (paddle board + life jacket). They also sell Tonto passes ($8). You’ll need one for parking at one of the recreation areas. America the Beautiful pass will also work. Those of us that bring our own paddleboard will have time to inflate at Water Users Rec Site. The 2 main spots that we’ll be taking breaks are the Bridge and Mud Cliff, so that everyone can catch up to the group.
🚌 We’ll work out the shuttles once we all meet at the rental place.
🍕 We can grab lunch together afterwards if people are up for it.
⚠️ Arizona Law requires everyone to have a life jacket on their board, so be sure to bring one!
