Manual Mode & Exposure

Details
This FREE workshop will educate participants on understanding exposure through the thorough understanding of manual mode on their cameras. This session will unleash creativity and eliminate fears of manual mode and allow the photographer to make choices (rather than the camera) for the best possible image. We will explore several topics ranging from aperture selection to histogram understanding.
This class is heavily suggested for those continuing on to the lighting workshops.
• Understanding aperture choices and depth of field & bokeh
• Shutter speed, white balance and maximum sync speed
• ISO and RAW image amplification
• How digital cameras use memory and tricks to help reduce sensor noise
The class consists of lecture, hands-on time, as well as several handouts.
The session will also include time for participants to take images with their cameras to explore topics covered during the workshop. It is suggested they being in their equipment for the class so they can try things as they are discussed.
After this class, Studio MLP will be hosting a more in-depth "Basics of Lighting (https://www.meetup.com/StudioMLP/calendar/12939983/)" class. This is a PAID event. Please go to the Studio MLP Meetup page (https://www.meetup.com/StudioMLP/calendar/12939983/) to sign up!
For those that are attending the manual mode & the lighting class I have a little extra treat. I have purchased the "LensAlign" system for calibrating the focus of your camera. Between the 2 classes and throughout the remainder of the day people are welcome to use it to get the autofocus of their cameras tack sharp (this is for those DSLR models with the micro-focus adjustments settings like the D300 and so on). I think most cameras have this setting. I will be demonstrate how to use it.
