Extended Photography Workshop
Date: Saturday, 21 March (21.03.2026)

### Workshop focus
This workshop is about creating meaningful photo series, that convey a story or an idea, mood or feeling.
We’ll explore how to plan sequences, use different frame sizes, and craft transition frames that guide the viewer through a story.
You’ll learn how to create images with intent, how to shift mood across a series, and how to make your work feel cinematic and cohesive.
We will talk on the topic of storytelling through multiple shots and work on a habit of inputting meaning into your single photos and series.***
### During the workshop you’ll
- analyse existing photo series to understand visual flow and rhythm
- plan and shoot sequences with transitions, shifts of mood, and varied frame sizes
- practice making each photo intentional, with meaning behind it
- experiment with cinematic techniques: pacing, conceptual contrast and use of colour as a way of storytelling
- review series together, discussing narrative choices and emotional impact

### After the workshop
You’ll understand how to make every frame count and how series can be more powerful than single photos. You will likely become more strict when selecting your photos. You will look at photo walks as separate projects

- Understanding why every frame matters
- Frame sizes and techniques also for cinematic storytelling
15:30 – 17:30 | Planning & shooting
- Choosing subjects and ideas for your series
- Shooting sequences with transitions and varied frame sizes
- Practicing mood shifts to make our series more dynamic
17:30 – 18:40 | Editing choices and review of the series
- Simple editing techniques to make your series work
- Stylising your work and selection of the images
18:40 – 19:00 | Wrap-up & discussion
- Reviewing series and discussing story choices
- Q&A and next steps
