All levels are welcome, digital or film: New to photography, hobbyists, part-timers, even pros: Meet others in the area that are also interest in photography! Each meeting has a different topic; if you are interested in that topic, then RSVP "Yes" and come to the meeting. If you are not interested -no problem! -but please RSVP with "no".

Mission Statement: We are dedicated to the advancement of photography as art, hobby and profession.

We help our members reach their full creative potential by:

· Sharing ideas and information on all aspects of photography.

· Providing regular programs and competitions for members.

· Creating a space for constructive dialogue, feedback and criticism.

· Providing advice, help and encouragement.

· Providing or sponsoring lectures, demonstrations, and exhibitions for the benefit of the community.

· Providing opportunities for good fellowship and mutual aid.

Next Meeting: Thursday, April 11th Presentation: "Capturing Dynamic Images using Geometry" Philip Thomas will discuss design/geometry of images, his influencers, and present and analyze examples of how he applied learnings from the masters of the 20th century to the genre of documentary wedding and street photography. Bio: From Chichester in England, UK, Philip immigrated to San Antonio, TX in 2006, to marry his best friend, Marcie. Before Philip's move to America, he was a news photographer covering local stories and sports, managed a studio, and traveled the world. A lifelong photographer, Philip is self-taught and learned from mentors in the newspaper industry. Over time, Philip has developed his craft heavily influenced by photojournalism. Philip's inspiration comes from numerous photographers. Among his heroes of sorts are Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Robert Doisneau, Don McCullin, Elliott Erwitt, Alex Webb and the founders of Magnum. An avid street photographer, Philip shoots around 20 weddings a year in San Antonio, Houston and Austin.
