Explore ‘Color and Composition in Photographs’ on the Western Shore
Come join us for brunch, and a talk on how to photograph color. After our short talk, we'll take some time to shoot together in some spots near the restaurant and explore other places along the beautiful Western Shore. We'll finish up around 4 or so. The emphasis is on shooting, not talking! So bring your cameras and your questions and come on out.
$59 (includes a color wheel, but does not include food or drinks)
Where: Galesville, MD, just an hour drive from downtown Washington, DC
Color is one of the most powerful elements of a photograph and one of the most challenging to master.
In this really fun workshop, we’ll gather at Pirates Cove in Galesville, MD. The area is beautiful and inspiring, overflowing with photo opps of boats, docks, skies, birds and fabulous color.
Over brunch, we’ll talk about how to use a color wheel to create more dynamic photos and learn what opportunities are presented to us. We’ll talk about complementary colors as well as triads, analogous colors and some psychology of color.
We’ll talk about the weather that day and how to take advantage of the light we are offered. An overcast day offers different opportunities than bright overhead light. But each has its advantages and opportunities for memorable and stunning photographs.
Color, and the quality of color is ever-changing, and so we’ll work with what we have--a dynamic atmosphere and a chance to really see how a pro deals with any kind of weather.
