What we’re about
Dedicated to those photographers who like to connect with other photographers to share one another's work and attend photography outings.
This group is for people serious about the pursuit of photography. It is for people who want to grow and develop their skills and are receptive to learning from one another. You should have experience and know the fundamental principles of photography.
Although you don't have to be an advance photographer, you should demonstrate a sincere and serious interest in photography.
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."
Robert Frank

Time to plan some new photography outings! Its been a long winter and after knee replacement I'm ready to get out and enjoy some photography outings. Please join me to brainstorm new ideas and have a chance to get together and catch up.
We will meet at Scarborough's Restaurant where we will have a private room. I'm still waiting to get confirmation on this. I chose this as it is a good restaurant that is centrally located. You can see their menu here: Scarboroughs Restaurant
I'll be updating this post
- Wolf Creek Falls Red and White TrailsWolf Creek Falls Preserve, Altamont, NY
Wolf Creek Falls Preserve is a lovely walk to with a variety of different waterfalls. I have wanted to do this hike in the winter to see if we can find special ice formations. This is part of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy (MHLC)
Wolf Creek Falls Preserve
This is a mile or so (longer if you want) trail so dress warmly and be prepared with snowshoes and/or microspikes depending on the weather. We will likely be about 2 - 2.5 hours shooting and walking. You may want to bring hand warmers and a thermos with a hot beverage. Not sure if there will opportunities for long exposure work but bring your tripod just in case.I read the comments on Alltrails and it seems that the parking lot is plowed in winter. We will meet there at 10:00 am. To learn more about the trail go to:
Alltrails Wolf Creek Falls - Dakota Ridge Llama FarmDakota Ridge Farm, Ballston Spa, NY
I don't know about you, but Llamas are especially appealing to me. They are so cute and seem so friendly. I am booking a visit to the Dakota Ridge Llama farm that will include a tour and the opportunity to take photos of these lovely creatures.
From their website Dakota Ridge Farm:
"Come and visit approximately 60 llamas on a working farm, they are very gentle and easy to love. We will give you basic information on the many uses and care of llamas. The tours are private, so you will not be in a large group. You will have a personal hands-on experience as we bring out a llama for you to pet, brush, feed and walk. We will bring you in all the barns, so you can see and interact with the animals, including taking photographs."
The cost is $20.00 per person. I will need to book and pay in advance so if you sign up please be prepared to send or give me $20.00 in person. I can have up to 15 - 20 people although I don't expect we will have that many.
I will update this event as I know more.
