What we’re about
Dedicated to those photographers who like to connect with other photographers to share one another's work and attend photography outings.
This group is for people serious about the pursuit of photography. It is for people who want to grow and develop their skills and are receptive to learning from one another. You should have experience and know the fundamental principles of photography.
Although you don't have to be an advance photographer, you should demonstrate a sincere and serious interest in photography.
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."

Beaver Super Moon at Round Lake
Location not specified yetJoin us for an peaceful evening of photography as we gather to capture the Beaver full supermoon rising over the still waters of Round Lake, NY. This is a perfect opportunity to slow down, tune into the rhythm of the natural world, and make images that reflect the beauty of the night sky.
The moon will rise at 3:54 and the sun will set at 4:43 pm. If weather cooperates we we could have some really lovely golden hour shots going into dusk. Bring long lens/wide lens and possibly a flashlight/headlamp.
We will meet in the Round lake DEC boat launch parking lot.
Round Lake DEC boat launchIf it is raining or heavy cloud cover, this event will be canceled.

Overlook Mountain, Hotel Ruins, and a Buddhist Temple
Overlook Mountain Trailhead, 353 Meads Mountain Road, Woodstock, NY, USOverlook Mountain trail offers a hike mostly along an old gravel road, providing a steady incline to the summit. We will take our time and several breaks on way up. The views at the top are definitely worth the trek! It is about 1350 feet of elevation and 4.6 miles round trip. Along the way, you'll encounter a variety of interesting sights, including the ruins of an old hotel, a fire tower, and a Buddhist temple (it may or may not be open). The mountain fire tower also offers nice views, extending across the Catskills and even into the Hudson Valley.
Trail to Overlook MountainWe will meet at Stuyvesant plaza in front of old entrance near old TGIF and Starbucks at 8:30. It takes about 1 hour and 25 minutes to get there.
Need to be sure to wear hiking boots. Bring a snack for the top and wear layers...you know the drill. Lunch in Woodstock after? We should be back down by @1:00 depending on how much time we spend at the hotel and possibly the Buddhist temple.
If weather is bad, I will cancel.
