Model Shoot - Urban Portrait Photography

Join us for an Urban Model Shoot in the back streets of Borough. Loads of interesting locations - railway arches and narrow streets, with lots of atmosphere.

We'll have a professional female model and we'll use both street light and off camera flash to shoot. And you'll learn how to combine the two.

You'll learn how to create urban portraits of our model, and about using off camera flash on location.

There will be 2 locations with approx 10 mins walk between the two.

We'll work on creating shots like these from previous Meetups.

I have flashes and triggers that we'll use.

You just need to bring your camera.

We'll cover the following:

• How to create portraits and work with a model on location

• Camera and lens settings for portraits

• Camera settings with flash – shutter speed, aperture, ISO and sync speed

• Use of light stands, reflectors, diffusers and umbrellas

• Posing and working with a model

• Using the environment in your image

• Using natural light

• Balancing ambient light with flash

Everyone one will have lots of opportunities to shoot the model. Due to the nature of working with flash only one person at a time will shoot, but everyone will have several turns to work with the model.

The session will last for around 2 hours and we'll have a female model.

As usual there will be plenty of time for everyone to take lots of images.
