Great Blue Heron Rookery & lunch in Tsawwassen

Let's go to the amazing Great Blue Heron Rookery Near the BC Ferries in Tsawwassen, then have lunch at Milestones at Tsawwassen Mills
The best place to park is near the Tsawwassen BC Ferries terminal is at the rest area/pullout along Highway 17 (Tsawwassen Drive North). The rookery is tucked under the bluff on the left side as you head toward the ferry terminal. [1, 2]

• Location: The nesting colony is located along the hillside just before the start of the Victoria Ferry Causeway.
• Best Parking: The rest area off Hwy 17 is the most popular spot for viewing.
• Alternative Parking: Some people use the large boat launch parking lot near the entrance to the causeway, though many spots are intended for trucks with trailers.
• Viewing Tips: Bring binoculars or a camera with
• a good zoom, as the nests are up in the trees.

The site is active and easily visible in early spring, with hundreds of nests. Do not park on the shoulders of the main ferry causeway, as this is not permitted.
