1. "Tracing the Thread”
An Evening with John Hendrick
📅 When: Thursday September 11th, 6:30-8 PM
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
In this talk, John Hendrick unpacks the quiet narrative running through his work, one shaped by transition, presence, and the power of showing up with a camera in hand. Through projects like NEXUS, Field Notes, and Interwoven Cities, John reflects on how photography became a tool not just for seeing, but for staying grounded after decades of global service as a Navy Corpsman. He shares insights into developing long-form personal work, cultivating vision through repetition, and approaching everyday environments with intentionality. From the streets of San Antonio to international features with Leica and Capture One, John discusses how walking the same streets for years revealed stories he didn’t know he was telling until the work came together.
This talk isn’t just about cameras or composition, it’s about tracing your own thread through the noise of life, and honoring the moments you don’t yet realize are significant. A live Q&A will follow.
