Photowalk Nihon Minka-en + 🍜 Mizonokuchi Shoten-gai Stroll

Let’s spend a relaxed day exploring a beautiful open-air museum of traditional Japanese houses at Nihon Minka-en, followed by a stroll (and maybe a bite or two) through Mizonokuchi’s nostalgic shopping street.

📍 About the Places

• Nihon Minka-en (日本民家園) – An open-air museum in Kawasaki preserving over 20 traditional houses from across Japan, including farmhouses, merchant houses, and samurai residences. These buildings, many over 200 years old, are set among gardens and seasonal nature, making it a photogenic and culturally rich destination.
• Mizonokuchi Shoten-gai (溝の口商店街) – The barrack-style West Exit shopping street was once a postwar black market, and still retains an overwhelmingly nostalgic Shōwa vibe. Narrow alleys, tiny eateries, lanterns, and old storefronts create a retro atmosphere perfect for an evening stroll.
