What we’re about
Berkshire's community-driven PHP User Group - a bi-monthly meetup featuring speakers from a wide range of backgrounds and discussions on PHP technologies and toolings around it.
PHP Berkshire was created in 2015 by the community for the community. The organising of these meet ups has recently been passed to Humand Talent Limited. With the group at risk of being lost forever in 2022, Humand took on the cost of running the MeetUp page and will now organise events for the PHP Berkshire community bi-monthly.
We are always encouraging new people to get up and share knowledge and experiences. If you have any topics you'd like to hear about, or, if you'd like to give a talk at an upcoming meet, please get in touch.
If you work with PHP in any way, we'd love to see you at a meet up. We welcome novices, intermediates and senior developers from the worlds of Laravel, Symfony, WordPress, Drupal, Zend, CakePHP and more.

with Liam HammettHandling millions of API calls in production can be overwhelming.
Almost everyone in the PHP ecosystem uses Guzzle, so in this talk we’ll deep dive into using its underutilised middleware for efficient API monitoring. We’ll dive into recording telemetry data using OpenTelemetry, observing it through Grafana with the help of Loki, Tempo and Prometheus. Drawing from my experience building an application that makes millions of API calls each week, you’ll leave with actionable insights to keep your microservices and third-party APIs stable under pressure.
Interactive Session: Exploring JavaScript and PHP Integration
with Andy BurgessJoin us for an interactive roundtable focused on the role of JavaScript in PHP development. Andy is currently working on projects combining PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and AJAX - bringing up key questions about best practices, security, and pitfalls when using JavaScript to connect the front-end with back-end databases.
Whether you’re experienced with JavaScript frameworks like Node.js, Angular or React, or mainly work with PHP, this is a great opportunity to share insights and discuss challenges - especially around securing data and preventing vulnerabilities.
