**Talk from Dave Liddament**
*Director and Developer @ Lamp Bristol*

Dave is a director and developer at Lamp Bristol, a software consultancy. He’s been writing software commercially for over 20 years in many languages including C, Python, Java and PHP. Dave is keen to pass on his knowledge. He speaks at conferences and user groups, and is an organiser of PHP-SW. He is also the author of an open source tool called SARB (static analysis results baseliner) and creator of the PHP Language extension library. When not busy coding Dave enjoys scuba diving and running.

By creating custom PHPStan rules you can enforce your project-specific coding standards, automate tedious review tasks, and ensure a consistent codebase - all without manual intervention. This talk will guide you through step by step the process of creating a custom PHPStan rule. By the end of the talk, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to craft your own PHPStan rules, helping your team reduce bugs, save time, and focus on what matters most: writing great code.

Rob founded Nineteen Feet in 2013 to provide application development & support services that provide a tangible improvement to client operations. They integrate software together with clients and can take the data that's trapped in their internal systems and allow it to be accessed on the web in easy to understand ways that help improve sales and customer service.

***OAuth 2.1: The Future of API SecurityAbstract***
OAuth 2 is the gold standard for authentication in APIs and is currently being updated to version 2.1. In this talk we'll dive into how it works and what's different from OAuth 2.0. OAuth 2.1 consolidates and simplifies OAuth 2.0 along with bringing the best practices that have evolved since 2.0's release into the main standard. I'll discuss how the Authorization grant type has evolved with PKCE to make it the best for nearly all clients, and also cover the best practices to use today in order to secure your API. By the end of this session, you'll be well prepared for the future of API security.
