November | An introduction to Domain-Driven Design

Details

For the last PHP Sussex event of 2024, Rob Allen is coming to Brighton to give us an introduction to Domain-Driven Design (DDD), the ever-more popular approach to software design.

Rob is an API Consultant, Engineering Leader, Architect and Developer at 19FT, as well as a seasoned Conference Speaker (talk details further down).

This event will be hybrid, meaning you can either join in person or online:

The in-person event will take place at Runway East in Brighton from 6:30 pm. There will be food and drinks and you're welcome to come have a chat before the talk starts (around 7 pm).

Online participants can join the live stream from 7 pm.

Here is how Rob introduces his talk:

"Domain Driven Design focusses on modelling the domain logic and helps us to map the business requirements to our software. We'll discuss the terminology and take a look at what Domain Driven Design is and see how you use it to build and architect software that meets the needs of its users.

We'll start by looking at the strategic considerations in DDD, particularly the importance of communication at all levels of the project and then move onto the tactical side, so that by the end of this session you will be better positioned to create excellent, maintainable applications that are fit for purpose."

Rob is a great and articulate speaker with tons of knowledge on the topic, so if you keep hearing about DDD but never took the time to look into it, this is a talk you don't want to miss.

See you there!
