We are excited to announce the 3rd event of Warks.Dev, a brand-new community and event space for developers from any background in the Warwickshire area. Our event will run quarterly, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow developers, enjoy insightful talks, and engage in networking.

Event Highlights:

🕒 Event Schedule:
6:30 PM - 7:15 PM: Arrival and Networking
Arrive, grab a drink and network with like-minded devs in the local area. If it's your first time and you are arriving alone feel free to seek out Adam (the tall ginger guy) and we will help introduce you to some friendly faces.

7:15 PM - 7:45 PM: Featured Talk by Ben Paddock- Senior developer at The Economist.
Mental Health in Tech
Working in tech can be mentally challenging. In this talk we'll look at factors that contribute to mental wellbeing around work, as well as things employers and colleagues can do to help.

Test-Driven Development: Inside-Out vs. Outside-In
Join me as we explore Test-Driven Development (TDD): what it is, what it isn't, a brief history, it's basic concepts and what benefits it can bring. Then we'll compare and contrast the two main styles of TDD, inside-out and outside-in, their pros and cons and when you should use one over the other.

8:45 PM - Onwards:
Feel free to stick around, grab a drink from the bar and carry on networking.

We will provide a variety of pizzas. If you have any specific dietary needs, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you.

Meet the Speakers:
Ben Paddock
Senior developer at The Economist, cat herder and mental health first aider
Mike van Oorschot
Mike is a senior consultant at Codurance, a global software consultancy. He has the pleasure (and pain) of working with variety of clients on all sorts of projects in all sorts of domains. Primarily a back-end .NET developer (since .NET v1.0), in recent years he has been working more and more with TypeScript, with both frontend and backend frameworks. His time is usually split 50:50 between hands-on technical stuff and leading teams.
