Als web developer ben je ongetwijfeld al eens geconfronteerd met caching, vaak uit noodzaak en gepresenteerd als een hele intelligente pleister. Echter is caching veel meer dan een pleister en kan het je zelfs heel veel brengen in tijd, performance en zelfs geld. Aan de hand van persoonlijke ervaringen ga ik verschillende vormen van caching laten zien vanaf de eerste proxy tot aan je database aan toe en geef ik voorbeelden van soms onverwachte plekken waar caching goed van pas komt.
