Social Night: Nothing Formal, Deep Discussions Abound

This Saturday will be a social night rather than a formal presentation night.

These are some of our best gatherings. There is no assigned reading, no presenter, and no prepared topic everyone has to stay on. Instead, we’ll have a more open evening of conversation, food, friendship, and whatever serious or ridiculous questions naturally emerge.

The heart of this group has always been the free exploration of meaningful ideas: responsibility, meaning, religion, psychology, philosophy, politics, culture, personal development, and the strange difficulty of being human. Social nights give us a chance to pursue those conversations in a more relaxed way, without the structure of a formal presentation.

New people are welcome. You do not need to be an expert on Jordan Peterson, and you do not need to have read anything beforehand. The only real expectation is that people come ready to think honestly, speak freely, listen seriously, and disagree without turning disagreement into personal attack.

Bring food to share if you would like, or just bring yourself. Expect a mix of casual conversation, deep discussion, laughter, disagreement, and probably a few unexpected rabbit holes.

Join us at our new meet up location at an organizer's in South Gilbert. At the corner of West Sagebrush and West Lago Blvd in the Lago Estancia neighborhood. Avoid parking on Lago Blvd and notice the fire hydrant at the corner.

We have a potluck for everyone to partake of throughout the evening, so bring some food to share if you wish (this could be anything from a bag of chips to a homemade dish).
Our fundamental principle is to encourage the free expression and exploration of ideas. Therefore, we will never silence controversial views that anyone may have about a topic. For the same reason, we do not tolerate direct personal attacks, which only impede genuine dialogue.
