Plan PHXGeo's Next Outdoor Mapping Event
Details
Let's take advantage of this gorgeous Phoenix weather and plan an outdoor mapping event for PHXGeo!
At this planning meeting we'll decide whether we want to continue the tradition of creating a Papago Park Saguaro Map (we're about 75% there) and/or choose a new theme this year. We're hoping to get lots of fresh ideas from PHXGeo members!
We'll also decide which mapping platform to use this year. In past years we have used ArcGIS Online, Google Maps, and QField Cloud. Conservation GIS has recommended we take a look at GreenMap this year and we discovered during the recent Experience Builder event that EXB maps are highly usable on cell phones. We're hoping to brainstorm a few more alternatives from PHXGeo members as well. The main criteria for the platform are 1. Free or inexpensive, 2. Easy to learn, 3. Live group mapping, and 4. High-res imagery base map.
Please feel free to start posting ideas in the event comments here or message Event Organizer Veronica Nixon directly.
