Women's Sitting Circle: Phoenix
• PLEASE JOIN US WEEKLY FOR: a brief reading then 30 minutes of silent sitting followed by mindful speaking and listening to each other. The front door opens at 6:45 pm. Any form of silent, still meditation is welcome. No charge. No donations asked. • NEW ATTENDEES ONLY: A bit of meditation experience is helpful. Please email Kathy to give a brief description of your past meditation experience. You need not be an expert!! • WHAT TO BRING: We sit on a cork floor. There is a 2-3 person sofa to sit on and one mat plus sitting bench. You are welcome to bring your own cushions and mats. • IMPORTANT TO KNOW: We pass a singing bowl around the group after the meditation so each person can speak without interruption. Afterwards discussion is open but we aim to listen deeply and speak mindfully. We try not to instruct nor "fix" one another. Perfection is not required, however!

What we're about

Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome to sit with us. The group is grounded in Vipassana (Insight) meditation but any form of silent, still meditation is very much welcome.

If you are new to meditation it is recommended that you first attend our 10:30 am Mindfulness for Beginners sessions on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

If you would like to contribute, the suggested donation is $1-5 to help pay for our monthly rent, PHXvipassana and MeetUp website fees and miscellaneous expenses.
