Bolton Piano Concerto World Premiere

I am excited to announce the world premiere of my Piano Concerto in C! I will be performing my piano concerto with the Two Rivers Community Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Timothy Cierpke. We are located in the Donelson/Hermitage area and perform several orchestral concerts per season. This is my first time having the incredible opportunity to perform a piano concerto, and even more so that it is my own composition.

The piano concerto is in the traditional three-movement form but the genres are quite eclectic. The first movement has influences of American jazz and blues, and late-Romantic period classical music. The second movement begins with a Baroque style chorale before morphing into a more contemporary feel. The finale brings inspiration from the Super Mario Bros. games of my childhood, and was composed with the intention to simply bring joy, mirroring the effects of playing classic video games that transport us to fantastical 8-bit and 16-bit worlds.

Admission is free. The rest of the program will be Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome and Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei.
