REMINDER: Spooky Scary Pianists! October 2025 MeetUp

Hello, Piano Friends,

Our next MeetUp has come upon us quickly. I am SO excited by the demand from our September MeetUp and am looking forward to a new crop of piano enthusiasts to join us. I have closed RSVPs earlier this time in order to ensure ample playing time for everyone, including myself! (Yes, even your gracious host would like to share her pieces with you all every so often, lol.)

Here is the broken record portion of this message: 7-9 minutes per performer, all levels and genres are welcome and $10 per attendee (a modest contribution towards our lovely space and yummy snacks at our post-performance reception).

I know that we have waxed and waned regarding playing time. With the advanced repertoire of so many of you, finding selections (or excerpts) that do not exceed 9 minutes is very challenging. This includes the ole' "I've got a few short pieces" schtick, which inevitably ends up being much longer. (You offenders know who you are!)

All jokes aside, we endeavor to accommodate as many pianists as possible while optimizing playing time. And for 2026, we aim to provide even more performance opportunities, with the help of our wonderful benefactor, Thomas. In the meantime, I appreciate your patience and willingness to stick to the rules, as an abundance of players is a great problem to have.

Don't forget to invite newcomers to our group. We are always excited to recruit some new piano-loving friends! And be sure to mark your calendar for our year-end Holiday Recital on Saturday December 6th. This will be a more formal recital with a program. I'll give you more details on Saturday.
