The MLOps Community's Engineering Labs: Initiative and Use Cases

Details
We are back for the first event of 2021! This time we are happy to host the MLOPS Community. Check out the agenda!
P.s. all the talks will be in English.
==========
ABSTRACT
During the session, participants will be introduced to the MLOps Community.
In the first half, Demetrios will present the open place where you can discuss experiences and best practices around MLOps (DevOps for ML).
Then, Ivan will talk about the Engineering labs and he will explain how it came about.
In the second half, John and Artem will show how the initiative allows them to connect with the right people and how they were able to operationalize Pytorch Models using MLflow integration.
They will share pros and cons providing a technical overview based on their hands-on experience.
A Q&A will close the event.

SPEAKERS
DEMETRIOS
Demetrios is the cofounder of the MLOPSCommunity, and is a guy who knows just enough buzzwords to seem like he understands what's going on.
Demetrios is constantly creating as he tries to navigate this thing we call life. He has recently moved to the countryside in Germany after spending the last 10 years in the Basque Country.
Around 9 months ago he fell into leading the MLOps community which aims to bring clarity around the operational side of Machine Learning. Since diving into the nitty gritty of Machine Learning he has also felt a strong calling to explore the ethical issues surrounding all the tech he’s immersed in and has started a podcast entitled “Are You A Robot”.

IVAN
As a member of the Customer Engineer team at Google, Ivan is passionate about Machine Learning Systems and MLOps.
In the past, Ivan was involved in operationalizing analytics using different Open Source technologies in a variety of industries. His focus is on providing solutions to deploy, monitor and govern models in production and optimize business decisioning processes.
Ivan leads the Engineering Labs initiative at MLOps Community.

JHON
I’m John Savage, working, working as a Machine Learning Scientist at Overstock, a US-based e-commerce marketplace. I’m lucky enough to work on interesting, product-focused ML problems while living in a seaside town on the stunning west coast of Ireland.
I’ve always loved learning about how the world works and I love creating helpful tools for people, so I try my best to work on projects that allow me to do both at the same time.
I’ve loved being part of the MLOps community, soaking up the hard earned wisdom from people working in the area.

ARTEM
During his student times, Artem was working as a software dev in the Information Security field. After graduation three years ago, he pivoted to ML engineering and joined a young (back then) startup Neuromation, which aimed to build an awesome ML platform! Since then, the deep learning development platform pivoted to an MLOps-targeted platform called Neu.ro, and Artem slowly migrated to MLOps engineering too.
The most exciting thing for him is building cool systems with cool instruments as building blocks on top of cool distributed environments! And, of course, seeing how quickly the MLOps ecosystem evolves (as a few years ago we saw the burst of DevSecOps) is a big part of the excitement, in which MLOps Community plays a huuuge role!
Artem is always open to new opportunities for collaboration that will bring real value to the world. His motto could sound like: "Awesome tools! Best practices! But business needs go first."
