Warm Water Yoga Therapy, recognized by the Arthritis Foundation and the International Association of Yoga Therapists, is a safe & effective way to increase range of motion, mobility & balance, & to reduce pain. It is a great introduction to yoga for the aging population and for those who have never had a yoga practice; a re-introduction for people who were practicing before an injury and are now looking for a way to get back into yoga; and a way to launch a post injury rehab with a high emphasis on safety.

Warm water yoga therapy is an ideal environment for relieving pain and stiffness. For people with limited mobility, it can be a place to learn how to move again with freedom and joy without the fear of falling. The buoyancy of the water takes pressure off of the joints and allows students to move into yoga postures with an ease that may no longer be possible on land. While the resistance of the water helps them to work on improving their balance and coordination as they begin to flow from one pose to another.

Each interactive and customized session comprises intake, observation/assessment; protocol development, and protocol delivery embodied through yoga poses, meditation, breathing techniques, and mudras focused on stretching, lengthening, and strengthening muscles; improving posture and joint mobility; developing muscle coordination, overall stamina, balance, and a calm mind while finding physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual balance in the present moment.

This isn’t your average yoga class. Designed for people managing pain, injury, or limited mobility, our warm water yoga therapy combines the healing power of hydrotherapy with evidence-based yoga principles. Endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation and the International Association of Yoga Therapists, this class increases range of motion, improves balance, and helps you reconnect with your body—all in a tranquil, supportive setting that meets you where you are.
