It's hard to make new friends over 55. I created this group so that people will not have to do things alone. Various interests and activities. Movies, Board Games, Hikes, theater, Coffee houses

Lets go up to Vermont and take a walk. The West River Trail in Brattleboro, VT, originated as an ancient Native American path, the Wantastiquet path, which later became the West River Railroad in 1879. This narrow-gauge railway operated until 1934.
- The plan is to walk the "lower section", roughly 3.5 miles (around 7 miles or 2 to 3 hours the lesser of two evils)

History of West River TrailThe Lower Section of the West River Trail is a 3.7 mile pathway on the bed of the former West River Railroad. The trail begins in Brattleboro near the Marina restaurant (follow Spring Tree Rd north from the Marina Parking lot .2 mile to trailhead) and follows the West River to the trailhead on Rice Farm Road. The trail is flat, well drained, and some sections have been surfaced with stone dust.
