At 16,500 acres, October Mountain is the largest state forest in Massachusetts.

Parking is available at the intersection of Washington Mt. Rd. and Pittsfield Rd. (Same road, different town)

Plan on walking on gravel, dirt roads one hour out, one hour back. Maybe a hat, comfortable walking shoes. There are moose and other wild life in the area, so please be mindful of that.
