OT's Book/Movie Club
Details
Hello, this is a Book reading and/or Movie watching group. With it just starting out I will accept and look forward to new ideas to make this a fun group get-together. I figure in this next meeting we will of course review the Book/Movie along with suggestions to enhancing the event. We will vote on the next book/movie choice. You can find choices on: www.goodreads.com/list/show/252.Books_Made_into_Movies
Please note this is my meeting and not anything involving the Library. Any questions will be brought to me. Thank you!
# Compromising Positions - Susan Issacs
Though she can't admit it to herself, Judith Singer is bored. Each morning she kisses her husband on his way to work, and each evening she fixes him dinner. Three nights a week, they make tepid love. Life in their Long Island split-level is a ho-hum affair, but when a local dentist is murdered in his office, Judith's curiosity gets the better of her.
Judith soon learns that Dr. Fleckstein's private life wasn't as immaculate as his smile, and anyone in town might be the murderer. And when her neighbor becomes the chief suspect, Judith must find the real killer or risk losing her only friend in all of suburbia.
## The movie is a black comedy that combines elements of mystery and women's empowerment. Judith Singer, a former journalist becomes involved in a murder investigation after her dentist is found dead. The plot thickens as the as the suspects are revealed. The film explores themes of suburban life, and the complexities of relationships. Susan Sarandon's performance is particularly praised for its humor and depth, making the film a standout in its genre.
