What we're about

Hello and welcome to the Pistol Packing Ladies Shooting Club.

Pistol Packing Ladies is a ladies-only shooting club established by women for women to encourage and empower one another through safe pistol handling and firing. We encourage all women who want to learn to shoot, and those who want to hone their developed pistol skills, to join us for both on- and off-range events. We love what we do. We know you will too.

Learning to handle a pistol safely is paramount. Learning to shoot a pistol safely and with confidence is equally important. Pistol Packing Ladies offers lady pistol shooters a safe and fun environment to achieve their pistol shooting goals. PPL offers firearm handling and shooting classes (http://www.pistolpackingladies.com/for-the-ladies), as well as weekly events at The Range (http://indoorrange.com/) to challenge all levels of pistol shooters.

Pistol Packing Ladies meet every Thursday evening at The Range (http://indoorrange.com/), from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Each week is an opportunity for PPL shooters to hone their skills and learn to harness the power from within. It is also an opportunity to share time with other like-minded women.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of joining PPL is knowing that each shooter has the opportunity to meet other like-minded women who believe in the right to bear arms, to defend herself and her family, and to hone her pistol skills in a safe and fun environment. Relationships begin on the range as lady shooters share lanes, get to know each other, and share their skills with one another. Relationships continue both on and off The Range (http://www.indoorrange.com) and often blossom into great friendships.

For those new to shooting, or new to shooting at The Range, the PPL Getting Started (http://www.pistolpackingladies.com/getting-started) page is a great place to learn more about range pricing and options for what you may need at The Range.

PPL is open to ladies 17 years old and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Below are links to two introductory videos that new shooters may find helpful and an article regarding general rules for The Range:

Zombie Shooting Practice

The Range

Hello ladies, It’s ZOMBIE Night🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️ To kill a zombie, the shooter must shoot the zombie in the head. So instead of shooting at center mass, you will have to focus in on the zombie's noggin to make an impact during a zombie apocalypse. This means you need to keep your six fundamentals of shooting honed and ready. Zombie night is a great way to do that. This is open to all levels of shooters that feel comfortable enough to shoot with little or no guidance. Bring you favorite zombie targets, large or small, and plan to cleanse North Stafford of its zombies. You can purchase zombie targets online or you can purchase them from me for a $1 each. If you have the time to attend, but you do not want to participate in the scheduled drill/event, you don't have to. Join us and hone your skills in whichever manner you are comfortable with. For the new shooters here is a link to the rules of The Range - it would be beneficial to read before your first visit: http://www.pistolpackingladies.com/single-post/2015/11/09/Safety-Rules-For-Shooting-at-The-Range See you at The Range, Your PPL Team

Assess-the-area Drills

The Range

Hello ladies, This event is open to ALL PPL shooters who feel comfortable enough with little or no supervision. This event is great for practicing the five fundamentals of shooting. You'll want to bring at least four paper plates, a stapler (see our Getting Started page on the http://www.pistolpackingladies.com website) and a magic marker. We'll staple four plates to the cardboard and number them 1, 2, 3 and 4. When ready, the shooter will pick up her gun from the table and "assess the area" by keeping the muzzle pointed down range and looking over each shoulder to ensure the "area is clear". Behind her is a member of the team sticking out a hand with a number of fingers showing 1, 2, 3 or 4 on either side (not both sides). The shooter then turns toward the target and shoots the number indicated by the team member and quickly but accurately as she can, then she repeats the process. The targets will be at the 7 yard line (second yellow line). Plan to join us for an hour and a half of challenging shooting. See you Thursday! Weak/Single Hand Shooting Night

The Range

Hello ladies, We hope you've had a great week and that you're ready for something a little different. Tonight we are going to practice shooting with our weak hand. Why, you ask? Because proficiency with your strong hand is key, of course, but if your strong hand is out of commission for whatever reason, knowing how to comfortably and confidently handle and fire your pistol with your weak hand will offer a new kind of confidence. You'll start shooting with a strong two-hand hold, then a strong single-hand hold, then you will transfer the gun safely to your weak hand then continue to shoot with your weak two-hand hold and your weak single-hand hold. This can be challenging, but it's a good experience and you'll learn how good you can shoot with a single and/or strong hand. As always, we encourage you to try the shooting events that are new to you, but please do not feel that you have shoot as described. All shooters are welcome to attend and shoot as you normally would. See you soon! Your PPL Team PPL Website: www.pistolpackingladies.com (http://www.pistolpackingladies.com/)
