# Funders & Founders JAX — Meetup #4

Date/Time: January 28, 7:00–9:00 PM
With this meeting, we’re launching The $100 Pitch—a monthly, on-the-spot cash award for the strongest founder pitch. Yes, it’s a contest (see entry below). We’re looking for a concise pitch that clearly states the idea, articulates what you’re asking for, demonstrates market understanding, and—if possible—backs it up with data or traction.

## The $100 Pitch — What to Know

Purpose
Reward clarity, traction, and a well-defined ask that reflects investor-ready communication.
Format

• Pitches: 3 founders are pre-scheduled. (To enter, DM Lee Singleton.)
• Timing: 3 minutes to pitch + 3 minutes Q&A/feedback.
• Evaluation: Attendees vote on the clarity of the problem/solution, evidence of traction, market understanding, and the precision of the ask.

Pitch Bowl Contributions

• Who contributes: Funders (and any attendee who wishes).
• Suggested contribution: $100 (or another amount if preferred).
• Collection: Recorded at check-in, PayPal also accepted; receipts available on request.
• Award: 100% of the Pitch Bowl is paid to the evening’s winning founder immediately after voting.
  Note: Contributions are voluntary; the award is a same-night cash prize (not investment or equity).

Eligibility & Selection

• Who can pitch: Early-stage founders with a real product/service.
• How to be considered: Message the host Lee Singleton in advance; three founders are scheduled each month.

Voting & Transparency

• One vote per attendee.
• Tally and announcement occur on-site before close.
• We publicly share the total Pitch Bowl amount and the winner.
• Tie-breaker: quick second ballot between tied founders.

• 7:20–7:30 Welcome & program overview
• 7:30–8:20 The $100 Pitch (3 founders)
• 8:20–8:30 Voting, tally, award presentation
• 8:30–9:00 Open networking & follow-ups
