CVC & VC Gen AI Funding Mini-Summit @Perkins Coie, Palo Alto. (Online)
Details
Above is a picture of Perkins Coie, Palo Alto the venue of this event.
Generative AI was accelerated due to Microsoft's investment of $10 B in Open AI. https://www.forbes.com/sites/qai/2023/01/27/microsoft-confirms-its-10-billion-investment-into-chatgpt-changing-how-microsoft-competes-with-google-apple-and-other-tech-giants.
So essentially, at its core, Gen AI is about Corporate/CVC’s fueling the next tsunami of tech disruption.
As an entrepreneur, if you don't take inputs from CVC's right from the get go, you may have to re-build/replicate all your hard work; however, there is no platform in Silicon Valley or beyond where you can obtain CVC perspectives of Gen AI. Hence, Pitch Global’s CVC-in-Residence, Deborah Magid, who recently retired after 20 years at IBM Ventures, launched the world’s first “Generative AI: A CVC Funding perspective” event keynoted by Global Co-Chair of Mckinsey and other senior investors from Lam Cap, Marubeni, Synapse etc.
