New Year's With a Twist
Details
Let's start the New Year off right with my annual New Year's among friends - pot luck style. This event will be at my house in Greenfield. BYOB. I've chosen an early-ish dinner as the time just in case I don't end up with Friday off work. :)
The theme is New Year's with a twist. Take any traditional "lucky" new year's dish and do a different version of it. For example, I chose to twist the traditional crock pot pork and sauerkraut into a pan roasted Reuben Stuffed Pork Tenderloin one year, and into a Korean Pork Bo Sa'am the next. The Bo Sa'am was so good that I am going to do it again this year.
If you do a bit of googling about traditional or lucky New Years dishes, you'll find plenty of inspiration. Different cultures have all different superstitions and there are plenty of base dishes that you can put a creative twist on.
Post your dish in the comments once you decide so that we can build a reasonably cohesive meal. You definitely don't have to skew Asian just because I did, but let's not have 6 versions of a new year's pretzel.
48 hour RSVP policy will be observed.
