A hands-on workshop from AWS Technical Evangelist Mike Coleman:
Are you looking to move to the cloud, but aren’t sure quite where to start? Are you already using AWS, and are looking for ways to simplify some of your workflows? If you answered “yes” (or even “maybe”) to either one of those questions, this hands-on workshop is for you. We’re going to take you through using Amazon Lightsail, an AWS service that provides the quickest way to get started in the cloud, to deploy and scale an application on AWS.
At the end of the workshop you’ll have a better understanding of:
· What is Amazon Lightsail · Why choose Amazon Lightsail
· How do deploy a preconfigured Amazon Lightsail blueprint
· Using operating system only blueprints to deploy custom applications
· Scaling your application with Amazon Lightsail load balancers
Attendees will need to have a laptop and an AWS account – we will provide credits to offset the cost of any infrastructure created during the workshop.
Basic schedule:
7 - 7:10 => Stand around awkwardly, wondering where the food is.
7:15 - 7:17 => Very brief introductions and announcements
7:17 - 7:30 => Lightsail presentation and Workshop with our guest speaker gets started
~7:30 - Food will arrive
Food - 9 => Finish workshop
