"Mal Goode Reporting"
Raised in Homestead and Pittsburgh, steelworker by day and Pitt student at night, Mal Goode became the network news's first African American correspondent when ABC hired him in 1962. University of Pittsburgh history professors Rob Ruck and Liann Tsoukas detail his rise through Pittsburgh media to become a national voice for the black community in their new biography, Mal Goode Reporting: The Life and Work of a Black Broadcast Trailblazer. A book sale and signing will follow.
