Hello to all in the Pittsburgh Historic Preservation Meetup group and welcome to those newer to the group! We appreciate the interest in our region's rich history and diverse architecture. We typically have been using this Meetup group to get the word out about events and talks by various nonprofits in the region (such as historical societies and Friends/preservation groups). Most are volunteer-run organizations (with no staff and little to no budgets for marketing). Since there are so many things already going on, we have not sponsored a Meetup specific event (just for Meetup members). So if you only see a few people who have signed up for a specific event, that doesn't mean that the event is not happening or is not of interest. The majority of events/talks are free (but many of the organization have memberships or take donations to continue with their programming).

By being part of this Meetup group, we hope to celebrate and learn more about our regional history as well as to try to protect the places that matter to our communities!
