Machine Learning on Kubernetes
Development of machine learning models places high demand for scalable -- and often distributable -- CPU, memory, storage, and GPU resources. Machine learning in healthcare brings the added responsibility of protecting sensitive patient information and HIPAA compliance. A number of commercial, cloud-based ML platforms have emerged, alongside several open source projects, but few spans all of these requirements and no clear leaders have emerged. In this technical talk, we'll present the architecture of a home-brewed Kubernetes-based platform designed to meet internal algorithm development needs at UPMC Enterprises. We'll demo our notebook environment, spawning of user pods, distributed job management, provisioning of GPUs, and discuss how we use AWS storage.
7:45 - Sponsor message, Hyperfluid Solutions
7:50 - Rob Kernick, Oteemo
Continuous Delivery with GitOps
Configuration management and automation are critical to scaling cloud applications. I will demonstrate how to leverage GitOps using Flux for automating deployments and configuration management for Kubernetes. I'll walk through some of the benefits and show a demo of Flux in action.
8:30 - Social / Wrap-up
