ONLINE: Wed, Feb 4: "What Happened to the Child Within?"
Details
In many psychological and spiritual circles there is talk of the inner child, but the definitions and possibilities are hugely different.
Psychology describes the child as a developing personality whose experiences often go 'underground' and recorded in a subconscious state that may shadow and affect our life's adult experiences.
Another approach describes a child-likeness from birth that is lost as personality is formed, and goes 'underground' but not as experiences that have been recorded as experienced by a personality, but rather as a pre-personality state that may again be accessible.
A third hypothesis: that the pre-personality child, that state in which each of us started life, which never got a chance to mature but rather, that chance was stolen by an imaginary I, me, mine identity. One could conclude that self and all it's "selfing" stole consciousness from the child.
Now as an adult, do you believe there could be any value for your child to regain consciousness?
How would you characterize "your Child Within"?
Please consider these questions prior to our meeting:
Where is your childhood now, is it accessible?
What do you remember and miss the most from your childhood?
What could be of the greatest value to you that could be regained from your childhood?
Your inner child is not a “childlike personality.” Rather, it’s the part of your subconscious mind that experienced and still remembers your childhood moments and emotions, both good and bad.
Above all, your inner child feels safer when they know you’re paying attention to them. It can help to simply acknowledge them, remind them you’re looking out for them, and send them your love.
