"In the ‘search for truth’, mystical experiences can play a major role.
I am defining ‘mystical’ or “spiritual experience” as a moment when something mysterious or out of the ordinary happens as part of your search. It can be a thought, feeling, intuition.. it could be subtle or explosive, a different way of seeing things, a shift in understanding and so on. I am assuming that something must have happened for you to begin or continue your search.
I propose an inquiry into the subject with the following questions:
Have you had one or more?
What do you think is / was their purpose?
What did you learn?
If it didn’t end your search, why wasn’t it enough?
Who had the experience?
Please use one of these or similar questions to inquire into, and be prepared to share your experiences with the group.
P.s. If you believe you have not had any such experiences, that can also be a subject of inquiry.
