If there was a beneficent source of higher wisdom, that would be trying to get my attention with something that I needed to know, what means could be used to get through to me?
Do I need to become more receptive, do I need to get outside my periphery of perception and understanding?
Would I need to hear, see or feel differently?

Do I block what does not fit neatly into my personal worldview?
If something of great urgency needed to quickly get in touch with me, how best would it get through?
Do I have the means to hear -through what door(s) might I be receptive?

What or who is trying to get my attention:
my conscience, a Higher Power, Higher Self, Inner Self, intuition, my body, my gut, my heart, deceased relatives, my pet, my house plants, Universal Mind, God, entities from another dimension, friends or loved ones . . .

How might something be trying to get my attention:
through a vision, physical pain or disease, dreams, mood, nostalgia, seeing (in front of my eyes), seeing (behind my eyes), thoughts, emotions, feelings, insights, glimpses, synchronicity . . .

What are your own experiences, have there been instances when you feel you received guidance? How would you know?
In what ways do you believe you are already receptive?
How could you go about recognizing what you currently may be ignoring?
Your inner mind is constantly trying to make your outer self aware of what's going on within yourself until you've answered to that need. It keeps throwing balls over the fence. As you drive down the road your mind will constantly pick out this fence or that tree, or this sign. . . It follows very closely the things that come in ordinary dreaming (which is another method of throwing balls over the fence). The dream-maker uses these things in waking life. They are attempts to guide you to what in you is unfulfilled. When I was young I learned that dreams were the source of all necessary information.. . "At Home with the Inner Self "-Jim Burns p48-49

"All the pictography of the dream is an attempt by the inner stage master to throw things over the fence to key you in to what is happening in your insides. Through dreams, you can repair the bridge to the inner self and again become a whole person. Realizing something in a dream isn't enough—you have to become aware of it in the waking state."
