4TH of July - Fireworks Skate - Pittsburgh

Details
The annual Fireworks Skate. We will meet at the Second Ave parking lot under the 10th Street bridge (next to jail) at around 7:30-7:45 pm and depart for downtown by 8 pm. Parking is free for the weekend.
Wear your lights and best red, white, & blue!
This is a really fun intermediate level skate and will not be patrolled. This means the pack must stick together and follow the leader as we zig zag through traffic and navigate crowds. Firework viewing is planned from the North Shore. We’ll find a spot once we get there, hang out and watch the display! Route ~ 10 miles.
The fireworks will start at 9:35 pm and we will skate back to the parking lot after the fireworks are completed around 10:00 pm. YOU WILL WANT A LIGHT / blinkies for the skate back. Option to bring your favorite 4th of July treats for mid & post skate snackin’
This is an intermediate skate. Be comfortable navigating around heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Be comfortable on hills such as bridge decks, and quick starts and stops.
The route will be skate friendly. Bicycles may join, but will be on your own navigating around steps, narrow & heavily populated areas. The leader will not guarantee a bike friendly route.
As always: Skate at your own risk. The club, coordinators, & leader assume no liability for your safety.
