Speaker Overview:

Paul Kelly:
Paul comes from a mixed background in systems administration, web development, and platform engineering, giving him a strong end-to-end understanding of modern digital services and cloud-native technologies. He has remained current with industry trends and has shaped policy and operational procedures for adopting containerised applications in large public-sector programmes, including Kubernetes standards and secure CI/CD practices. Paul has consistently evangelised “shift-left” security, embedding security controls early in the software development lifecycle while enabling effective delivery. He also holds an MSc in Security & Forensics, providing a strong foundation in cybersecurity, threat modelling, digital forensics, and secure system design that complements his practical engineering experience.

James Sherwood-Jones:

James is a Site Reliability Engineer and Engineering Manager at Pigment. Find out how and why he ended up down the management path, a route he never thought he would take. He'll tell us what he's learnt and share some tips for newer managers, or those considering it in their futures.
