Intro to Apache Cassandra: Decentralised NoSQL Database for Big Data

Details

There is no simple way to handle big-data pressure with a relational database. Vertical scaling gets extremely expensive very soon and doesn't solve the Single Point of Failure issue, while horizontal scaling doesn't work so well for RDBMS at all. Is there a better way? Standing out of the line of regular data solutions, Apache Cassandra is well known for zero-overhead linear scaling, global multi-datacenter active-active replication, and the ability to handle petabytes of data still keeping incredibly short response time. This distributed highly available NoSQL database was born on Facebook and now developed by the world's biggest companies like Apple, Netflix, Instagram, and many others. We invite you to join this talk, discover Cassandra's fundamental principles, and learn how it keeps up with the big data at the highest scale!
