Data Scientist: stop giving me numbers, tell me the story!
Details
As humans, we are hard-wired to tell stories as means of sharing information. Stories help us comprehend, make sense and put perspective on the increasingly complicated and sometimes hard-to-understand (digital) world around us.
But we as data practitioners oftentimes forget that stories are people’s primary vehicle for communicating. We rather focus on numbers, charts and spreadsheets. And manage to alienate our clients in the process.
→ So how can we bring data insights closer to our customers?
→ What is data storytelling and what makes a good data story?
→ What are the skills you need to be a good data storyteller and how can you start practicing these skills?
