***Agenda***
18:00 grab a drink and take a seat
18:10 - 18:30
Speaker: Michał Pyla, Product Manager at Ocado Technology
Topic: Approaching decision over rewriting
Abstract: Who has not heard these phrases: "It's old technology", "There's so much debt here that you can't write in it.", "If we rewrite it, we'll deliver faster."
The decision to start from scratch is never easy. Some bigger commitments must be on hold, the whole team is affected and risk is significant. How to conduct the decision-making process to fairly estimate whether it is worth hearing the voice of the development team, after all one of the stakeholders, or whether it is better to continue "as-is". And how it changes over time, can CoD, CD3, ROI or other methods be helpful?
I will present some examples from my own experience: those presenting both decisions and both reflections on it. With a pinch of analytical attempting.
18:30 - 18:50
Speaker: Alexander Boden, Lean-Agile Coach
Topic: Implementing OKRs with the A3 Process
Abstract: In this talk I will be discussing how I have used the A3 process to implement OKRs at a customer of ours. The A3 process was created by Toyota as a means to tackle problems in a scientific way in their organization as well as to practically implement PDCA, continuous improvement and as a mechanism for mentoring people from the shop floor to the C-Suite.
One of the challenges with the OKR process is that it tends to lack enough supporting structures for its implementation: many organizations love the idea of OKRs, but struggle to implement it effectively. The A3 process is one tool that can help bridge this gap and ensure you get the most out of your OKRs.
I look forward to providing you with insights you can put immediately to use and to meeting you all face to face.
18:50 - 19:10
Speaker: Katarzyna Gąsior, OKR Domain Leader, Program manager
Topic: Do OKRs achieve themselves?
Abstract: Have you ever heard the phrase: "We have defined goals! Then we are already managing by objectives"? Is it enough to define OKRs for an organization to realize them? During this presentation, we will talk about how to work with OKRs:
- What rituals and roles can effectively support working with goals from definition to implementation.
- What the cycle of working with OKRs looks like.
- Who should define goals and how to run a planning event.
- What other events should happen in the life cycle of goal achievement.
Bio: Katarzyna Gąsior, program manager, OKR Domain Leader. 8 years of experience in project management. For the past 3 years she has been implementing management by objectives and building the OKR framework.
Hope to see you soon! ;)
