From the Iron Bridge Trailhead hikers can access the Group 63 Trail, consisting of 4 miles of trail loops, and the 5.2 miles of the multi-use Henslow Trail. The Henslow Trail crosses the Iron Bridge over SR 53/Historic Route 66 onto Midewin's west side, while the Group 63 Trail leads to other trails accessible via the Hoff Road Trailhead.
The Iron Bridge Trailhead is one of the most developed trailheads at Midewin. The Trailhead offers equestrian parking, pollinator gardens, a campfire ring for programming purposes, and two historic farmstead sites. Visitors can also connect to the Group 63 trail and view an open display bunker along with an interpretive sign discussing the history of the Bunkers. Adjacent to the Iron Bridge Trailhead is Midewin's second largest restoration prairie. The Iron Bridge currently provides Midewin's only connection from East to West Side trails.
