## About The Trip

One of the most stunning and essential treks in India's north is the Parashar Lake Trek. You should go on the relatively simple but rewarding trek to Parashar Lake before the tourist crowds arrive. The floating island in the lake is well-known. But you would say that's a fairly common occurrence. But hold on—the surprise isn't quite over yet. You need to be cautious because the tiny floating island happens to float around the edge of the lake. When visiting Parashar Lake, you should also inquire about the lake's depth. You might be surprised to learn that despite numerous attempts, the precise depth of this lake is still unknown. Some claim that the humorous topology and climate of Parashar Lake are to blame for this, while others hold that mythology has something to do with it.
We know you enjoy stories, so we have one for you. According to myths, the lake was created by the elbow of the ram that belonged to Bheem as he and his brothers, as well as Lord Kamrunag, were travelling back from Kurushetra. Lord Kamrunag made the decision to spend his entire life in this valley because it so seduced him. As the upright person he was, Bheem drove his elbow into the mountain, carving out the lake for Lord Kamrunag. It is believed that Rishi (Sage) Parashar meditated at the lake that bears his name.
The tourist destination offers more than just a lake. The Parashar Temple, a prime example of the varied Himachal architecture, is a must-see for anyone who appreciates architecture. The 13th-century temple was built by Raja Bank Sen in Rishi Parashar's honour.
