A Unique Meet Up Featuring Two Inspiring Speakers!

Details

Our August Meet Up is a unique opportunity to hear practicing cardiologist Dr. Kevin Fullin on plant based nutrition, both his personal story and his successful approach for patients.

Also, speaking is Robert Grillo, founder of Free from Harm on Food, Animals and Popular Culture.

There is no charge for this meet up but reservations are necessary. A 5.00 donation at the door is appreciated.

3:00 pm: “Food, Animals and Popular Culture”

Robert Grillo, founder and director of Free from Harm, reveals how popular culture uses storytelling to shape our beliefs and attitudes about food and animals in powerful ways — from birth through adulthood. His slideshow is intended as a “day in the life” of any one of us, exposed to a deluge of fic- tional messages, narratives and images from popular culture which he then contrasts with actual stories and images of real-life individual animals he has come to know through his rescue work. And in conclusion, he presents a prescription for positive change to make the world a better place for animals and the environment that may just surprise you! Not to be missed!

4:00 pm: Dr. Kevin Fullin on Plant-Based Nutrition

Cardiologist Dr. Kevin Fullin shares his perspectives, personal experiences and patient results with a plant-based diet. Dr. Fullin is a cardiologist with United Hospital Systems in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He advocates a plant- based vegan lifestyle to reduce obesity, control coronary heart disease and manage other conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure. Since becoming a vegan in November, 2012, Dr. Fullin has shed over 60 pounds and enthusiastically promotes plant-strong dietary patterns to his patients and fellow practitioners.
