The Secret Life of Vegetables: A Kitchen Botany Lecture. And a plant swap !

Details

Ever wondered what part of the plant you're actually eating? Is a potato a root or a stem? What exactly is an onion? Join us for an eye-opening evening of kitchen botany, where we’ll explore the edible anatomy of plants—roots, leaves, stems, seeds, flowers, and all the tasty structures in between. This interactive lecture will guide you through the plant parts hiding in your fridge, with surprising facts and fun identification tips that just might change how you look at your plate.

Following the lecture, we’ll be holding a relaxed plant swap!
Bring along a plant, a cutting, some plant material, a pot, or anything green and garden-y you'd like to trade. It’s a great way to meet other plant lovers, share stories, and expand your home jungle.

The venue:
We’re delighted to be hosted by the wonderful folks at Street66, who are generously providing their space free of charge. To support this independent bar, we kindly encourage all attendees to purchase a drink—coffee, tea, or something stronger—before taking a seat. Supporting your local businesses helps them continue being vibrant community spaces for events like ours!

Cost: €9 per person
This small fee helps cover the cost of running the Meetup group, ongoing research, and making events like this possible for everyone. Thanks for your support!
