What we’re about
Hello Plantadenans! I have been to a few Altadena events, and have spoken with a number of homeowners who have said that landscaping is important, but not a top priority at this time. That being said, I am still finding ways to help out in the community through gardening and community.
I am still dedicated to helping Altadenans replant, and will host events when someone is in need of a group of us to help to replant their gardens. The Army Core of Engineers are now in Phase 2, removing debris from homes. I will be seeking out any leads for opportunities for us to help out.
The original idea was:
"Starting a group of novice to expert gardeners who would be willing to propagate from our own gardens, 5-10 desirable outdoor plants or trees, nurture and grow them at our own homes for as long as necessary, then give away to Altadena residences when they are ready to re-plant their gardens (possibly organize to help to replant their gardens?). We would meet every 2-3 months to share ideas, collect community input, teach new members how to propagate, recruit new members, and organize a list of homeowners/renters who can put in "requests.""
This idea is still at the heart for Plantadenans, so if you have already started growing plants or trees, keep them safe and strong. Stay tuned for upcoming events, as I make more connections.
