The Protein Myth
Details
The Protein Myth - this is a formal presentation on the myth that we need to eat lots of protein. The hype for eating a large amount of protein is largely driven by marketing and social media influencers and not by science. The average person, even those who exercise, usually consumes well over the required amount, making supplementation or excessive protein consumption unnecessary. Excessive protein, particularly from animal sources, is linked to kidney issues, elevated blood lipids, and heart disease. Come to this presentation to learn about how much protein do we really need.
This will be a pot luck. It is not required, but you are welcome to bring a plant based dish. We encourage people to bring their own plates, cups and silverware, but we will have extra on hand. We will provide water. The pot luck starts at 2:00 PM with the presentation following at 2:30 PM.
