Building High-Performing Platform Teams: A Practical Guide with Real-World Examples - Anna Ciula, Microsoft

In today's age, platform teams are playing an increasingly critical role in the success of organizations. These teams are responsible for
developing and maintaining the platforms that enable businesses to
innovate, grow, and compete effectively. However, building a
high-performing platform team is not easy.

In this talk, we will discuss the key principles and practices for
building high-performing platform teams. We will include real-world
examples from different organizations to illustrate how we applied
them in practice.

Key takeaways: - The importance of ownership and
having a well-defined platform mission and a great platform name! -
How to create a team culture of autonomy, mastery, and purpose. -
Practical strategies for empowering teams to solve problems, not just
implement solutions. - Practical tools and ideas to explore your
platform’s ecosystem including collaboration with main consumers
(developers). - How to create feedback loops and measure the success
of your platform team.

6:45pm - 7:15pm - Pizza, drinks and networking.

7:15pm - 8:00pm - Uncluttering Platform Products and Leveraging AI for Rapid Product Prototyping in Product Management - Sapnil Bhatnagar, Insife

This talk will unclutter the understanding of digital product platforms, exploring their dual nature in today's tech landscape:

  1. External Revenue Platforms: We'll briefly examine user-centric platforms like Spotify, Skyscanner, and Amazon that drive user engagement and generate revenue from outside the organization.
  2. Internal Developer Platforms: We'll delve into platforms designed to enhance organizational efficiency, with a special focus on Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs). These IDPs comprise tools, services, and infrastructure that streamline the software development process, potentially evolving into standalone products with strategic pivoting.
  3. Rapid Prototyping with AI: We'll explore how low-code AI tools such as V0, Cursor, and Claude can accelerate product development. We'll demonstrate how these tools enable swift creation of product prototypes for customer validation, significantly reducing costs and time-to-market and can be easily learned by non-technical product managers/founders.

By the end of this talk, attendees will gain an understanding of digital product platforms and learn practical strategies for leveraging AI in agile product development.
